The Jubilee Alliance Party's victory in the just concluded Kericho senatorial by-election is a strong statement that the party still remains the winning party.
This is according to Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri, who believes the party was getting stronger ahead of next year's general election.
Speaking at the Dundori shopping centre on Tuesday morning, Ngunjiri cautioned the Jubilee bigwigs against being carried away by the win, saying it was a time to strategise so as to avoid disappointment next year.
"I said it before and will never shy away from saying it; the writing is on the wall, and Kericho has reaffirmed my word that the ruling party remains the party to beat in the country at the moment unless magic happens," he said.
Ngunjiri further called on Jubilee leaders to plan for a major rally in Kericho to thank its people for ensuring that the senator elect, Aaron Cheruiyot, won using the JAP ticket.
The seat had proved to be a fight of titans with Deputy President William Ruto facing off with Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and Baringo Sentaor Gideon Moi who were drumming up support for Kanu's Paul Sang who came in second.
