Lucky Mandela, the first-born in a family of three, scooped 380 marks.

According to the soft-spoken and humble boy, he expected to perform well.

Mandela said that he expected more than that despite the challenges he has been through but thanked God for what he achieved.

Being from a humble background, with the mother as the bread winner, the victorious youngster has emerged to be the best pupil in Bridge International Schools in Juja area.

Mandela was enrolled in Bridge International school earlier in 2015 and admits that learning and competing with other pupils in a new school has not been easy. He adds that he used to wake up at 5:00 am and slept late to ensure he studies well.

“As a new pupil in a school it hasn’t been easy, I believe that hard work and determination has been the driving force in everything I did. My single parent and siblings have inspired me to achieve my best,” he said.

Mandela wants to become a pilot.
