Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo has urged residents to embrace peace and unity and shun leaders and politicians who perpetuate animosity. 

Speaking during a church service at St Andrews church in Gitothua Ward, Ruiru Sub-County on Sunday, Kabogo said that peace and unity will see residents achieve their development goals.

The governor said that locals have a responsibility to embrace togetherness and shun things or activities that could disrupt peace.

“We need peace and unity among the people so that we can work together on development goals,” he said.

Kabogo said that his government is keen to foster peace and unity among county residents.

He said that measures aimed at encouraging integration are being formulated adding that he will be on the fore front in championing for unity. 

The Kiambu governor urged residents to shun leaders who perpetuate divisive politics. He said some leaders were spreading false information about him and the government.

“It is unfortunate that some leaders had embarked on tarnishing the name of the county through propaganda,” he said.

Kabogo said that his government will serve all the people across the county without discrimination.

The governor who was accompanied by Gitothua Ward Representative Patrick Chege among other leaders also urged the church to be on the front-line in championing for development.

The Kiambu county governor vowed to work with religious leaders  to promote development in the county.
