Kiambu governor William Kabogo has called for tolerance and humility among politicians in the county.

Speaking to journalists after attending a mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in Githunguri on Sunday, Kabogo said there is need for politicians to exercise tolerance as they strive to serve the people.

The Kiambu governor said that the county will be able to achieve its development goals if politicians embrace each other.

He said that though they (politicians) might have divergent views they have a responsibility to listen to each other’s concerns for the sake of development.

“I know we all have different opinions on many things, but we have a responsibility to be tolerant and listen to other people’s views and opinions,” said Kabogo.

The Governor said that his government is open to the views of every leader and citizen in the county. He observed that Kiambu people would want to see the leaders they elected work together towards development.

“My government and leadership will always be open to criticism from everyone so long as the criticism is meant to spur development and not to divide the people,” said Kabogo.

The Kiambu county boss called on residents to embrace unity and support each other in their activities. He said that unity will ensure peaceful co-existence of residents adding that his government is keen to unite all the communities living in the county.

The governor also cautioned residents against being swayed by leaders who perpetuate tribalism and hate speech.
