Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka termed Monday’s anti-IEBC demonstrations a success.
Speaking to press after the protests in Capitol Hill, the Wiper leader stated that Cord supporters held peaceful demonstrations despite being provoked by the police. However, he articulated his heartfelt condolences to the friends and families of those who died in Kisumu and Siaya protests against IEBC. Kalonzo said that the coalition will take a plunge o the responsible police officers.
“We cannot rest easy knowing that people have lost their lives today because of unlawful actions from the police,” said Kalonzo.
The leader went ahead to accuse the police of arresting Kakamega senator, Bonny Khalwale, Suna East MP, Junet Mohamed and Mombasa County Assembly Speaker, Thadeus Rajwayi calling their actions unlawful.
“I wonder what kind of notification the police want. If they do not take note that they should know that the international community is,” he said.
The Monday’s protests just like the other three were frustrated when the police hurled teargas at the protesters and using the water canon to disperse them.
