This claims have come about following a loan burdening the members and which the cooperative officials allegedly took behind their back.

"We have never seen the investment made in the factory we own as a cooperative with regards to that particular loan and yet it is deducted off our earnings from the coffee we produce," said one of the cooperative members.

The cooperative owns a coffee factory located in Kaliluni location in Kathiani county. The members have called upon the government to intervene and investigate corruption within the cooperative heads by starting with checking their bank accounts because the members claim that the officials have been enriching themselves at their expense.

After attempts made to try and contact the cooperative chairman Mr. Joshua Wambua, all he said was that the cooperative consists of a large membership of more than 1, 500 people for their decisions to be moved by the small percentage of members who were attending that meeting.
