The Kangundo OCS Mr. Morris Okul on Tuesday warned residents to be cautious while purchasing second hand goods so as to avoid purchasing stolen goods.
He sent this warning after the area police arrested a business lady and locked her up in Kangundo police station after they found her in possession of stolen goods worth Kshs. 10, 000 that were stolen from several business stores in Kangundo town 2 weeks ago although the lady claimed that she bought them from someone and did not steal them.
"There is no justification for being found in possession of stolen goods despite the means used in acquiring them," explained OCS Okul.
He therefore recommended that one should get a legal transaction document to prove the transaction claim of second hand goods and to identify the seller so that the police can track them down in case the need arises.
He further insisted that the buyer should get the sellers ID number or phone number in cases where the seller does not have a permanent business store.
