Misuuni residents in Kathiani sub-county were overjoyed on February 3, 2016 after Dr Alfred Mutua Machakos county governor paid them a beneficiary visit.
Mutua was accompanied by Ambassador of Japan to Kenya H.E Tatsushi Terada and several Machakos county government officials.
He visited the residents to handover a greenhouse project which is geared towards empowering youth and women groups through agriculture.
"I am here to give out this project to you though someone might mistake and associate what am doing with politics.
I would like to urge all of you to make good use of project and ensure that it is well-maintained," said Mutua.
He said that the project was funded by the government of Japan through Machakos county government input under a scheme known as Grant Assistance Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
Through the department of agriculture, livestock and fisheries and with unity of all ministers, Machakos county government is committed to giving more greenhouses to youth and women groups for sustainable food security and also as a means of income.
Earlier on before proceeding to Kathiani, the governor had held a consultive meeting with the Ambassador inorder to look into the areas Japan should partner with Machakos.
