Governor William Kabogo has warned civil servants working in the county against engaging in politics and instead want them to dedicate their time to serve the people.

Kabogo claims that some civil servants are engaging in politics a move he said contravenes the constitution. He said that the constitution does not permit civil servants holding public positions to take part in politics.

“We are aware that some civil servants are openly supporting certain politicians and also engaging in political activities,” he said.

Kabogo warned that civil servants who openly support politicians at the expense of delivering services will be fired. The governor said that civil servants have a responsibility to deliver services to the people and must do it diligently.

He at the same time also asked sub county administrators to advance government development agenda at the grassroots. Kabogo lamented accusing some sub county administrators of failing to provide government information to the people at the grass root levels.

“Sub county administrators should serve the people diligently because they are the county government’s eyes in the Wards,” he said.

The governor said that the county government had started various development projects and asked the administrators to inform the people about them.

The Kiambu county boss also asked sub county administrators to keep off politics.
