The Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation and Business Africa is set to host The First African Employer's Summit.

The theme of the summit to be held in Naivasha, Nakuru County from May 5 to 7, 2016 will be 'Promoting Business Growth and Entrepreneurship for Job Creation'.

The event will bring together the continent's employer organisations, private and public sector decision-makers among other key stakeholders to deliberate and design an employment strategy for Africa that underscore the importance of entrepreneurship and a business-friendly environment.

Kenya, and other 20 African countries will be represented.

The summit will debate practical solutions on the role Africa's business community can play alongside governments in addressing unemployment and enterprise growth.

Many countries in Africa are grappling with several development challenges, ranging from food insecurity, high unemployment, poverty and inequality, to commodity dependence.

This is despite the continent's strong economic growth performance over the past decade.

The summit is expected to bring solutions to poverty at the grassroots in Kenyan counties by addressing youth unemployment.
