Kenyans have been urged to join hands to fight outdated cultural practices that include cattle rustling, Female Genital Mutilation and early forced marriages in the society.
Speaking in Naivasha on Tuesday, the former inspector general of police David Kimaiyo called upon the society to instead engage in meaningful development to improve their livelihood.
"We need communities to change their lives and and develop the nation and this can only be achieved if the society can join hands in the fight against such practices," said Kimaiyo.
Kimaiyo who is currently the chairman of the Kenya Airport Authority said that many people have lost their lives and properties worth millions destroyed.
"We need the church to assist in shunning away outdated practices so that some communities can have peace and development in their lives," he said.
