A Kisumu based lobby group has urged Kenyans to remember the less fortunate in the society this festive season.

Hand For The Needy coordinator in Kisumu Janet Achieng has said that this festive season, many people are celebrating without knowing that there are some in the society who have nothing to celebrate about.

Achieng said that Kenyans should remember street families, orphans and the elderly in the society who have nowhere to turn to.

“This festive season, we are calling on all Kenyans to share whatever they have with those who have none. We want everybody to feel equal considering the fact that we are all equal before God," said Achieng.

Achieng who who was speaking to this Hivisasa writer on Monday added that Kenyans should use the church in sharing with the less fortunate.

“The church plays a vital role in ensuring that we have equality in the society; i therefore urge Kenyans who have been blessed to donate to churches whatever little they have because the church knows where to distribute the donations," added Achieng.

Achieng additionally called on Kenyans to promote good social behaviours during this festive season with regards to the fact that many people sometimes lose control during the December festive season.
