During his inaugural meeting at the Treasury Boardroom on Monday at Kiambu, the county commissioner who was transferred from Mandera county told the heads not to shy away because of the fact that most of the functions were devolved to the county governments but to strive to offer their best.

Mr. Nkoyo noted that the presence of the national government should be felt at the grassroots level through service delivery as the most important thing was to serve the people.

A challenge that was cited by all departmental heads present in the meeting was lack of transport. Most of the heads do not own their own vehicles and this was noted as an impediment to delivery of service. It was agreed that they should form a strong team in which they could share the transport and any other service that was available in one of the departments instead of delaying their programmes.

The Officer from National Security Intelligence Services (NSIS) Mr. Mugenda Mwangi also told the heads to assist the government in their areas of operations. He said that the security of the nation depended on all officers and that in case anyone had vital information that touched on the security of the people, they should report to the relevant authorities.
