Residents of Kiambu and Moto in Molo constituency have raised concerns over the state of a water dam they depend on as a source of water.
Residents fear that they might soon be forced to travel for long distances to fetch water as the pollution in the dam will make water level to decrease.
"The water holding capacity of this dam is reducing due to siltation and water weeds. In case a dry spell hits us we will experience water shortage," James Kamau, a resident, said.
Agnes Wanjiru echoed his sentiments saying the dam is the only water source which residents depend on.
"We call upon the leaders and responsible authorities to act accordingly. This is our only source that is sustainable in tough environmental conditions," Wanjiru said.
