Kibera residents are now calling for the National government under the devolution docked now headed by Mwangi Kiunjuri to embark of projects that were initially started by National Youth Service (NYS).
According to some of the residents interviewed today, the youths from the area benefited a lot from the projects initiated by former devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru.
Dennis Onyango, a father of two said since his two sons stopped working under National youth service they have turned into their norm of drinking.
''I am calling on the government to try their best and bring back the NYS projects that used to keep our youths well and really give them some income,'' he added.
Onyango acknowledged that the existence of devolution has contributed to development and there was a need to ensure that they get back on track.
He Particularly singled out the slums where there were design development projects, including improvement of infrastructure, creation of projects to provide jobs for young people as well as NYS projects.
