Kibera residents of Ayani area on Wednesday congratulated the management team of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after being named the best-improved airport in Africa.
The airport nabbed the award for best improved in the 2015 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. This is not the first time JKIA has appeared at the top list of the ASQ. Last year, the airport was named the 5th best airport in Africa.
One of the residents, Richard Oloo said the title will encourage many tourists to visit Kenya perhaps to see this best or improved airport in Africa. He said the title will help boost the economy of the country.
Another resident, Lillian Lydia said the airport has put the Kenyan name on a top platform since it will be known by many people worldwide. She says the managerial team worked hard to get the title and need to be congratulated.
‘‘This is a clear indication that Kenya is moving forward. We should work together in unity to build the image of Kenya on the face of the world,’’ said George Kyalo, another Kibera resident.
