Magoso Primary School in Kibera is well known to the residents as a hotbed of talents. The school is located in Laini Saba village.
According to Hezekiah Ogira the head of music, the school has been shinning in music festivals since 2009 where they scooped many trophies at the national music festivals.
During the recent educational day for Kibera schools, Kibra MP Ken Okoth awarded Magoso as the most active school in music festivals.
The push from the community and the support from parents has now helped the school to start marketing their talents on You Tube.
"We realised that we have very talented children in Kibera and we needed to nurture them. Some of the pupils have also recorded their own songs," said Ogira.
The school’s first recorded music which has gone viral and found on You Tube as Magoso TV has been seen as a stepping stone for the institution.
"This place is called Laini Saba but because of what the school has done to the public, people are grateful and have since decided to call the entire area Magoso. This really markets us," said the jovial Ogira.
