Youths in Kibera have been asked to venture into their own businesses as one way of creating self-employment.
They have been advised not to rely on employment opportunities from the government but instead, engage in business activities which will enable them to live a good life with a well prepared for future instead of being involved in illegal activities such as theft.
Speaking this morning at DC market area, Henry Okeyo, a businessman in Kibera said that when young people venture into business, it will enable them to develop and create self-employment opportunities for better living standards.
''Most of the time when bad things such as theft happen in the society, youths are blamed simply because most of them are idlers in society. Youths should engage themselves in business projects which will make them busy in life,'' said Okeyo.
He further said that most of the time, youths are blamed for being politicians scapegoats, he urged the youths to stand up for themselves and venture into businesses so as to avoid fake promises from the greedy politicians who mislead and misguide them.
