Kiganjo bodaboda riders want the local leaders to build a shed for them to cushion them from adverse weather like the ongoing heavy rains.

Speaking in Kiganjo on Monday, Kiganjo Bodaboda Association Chairman Patrick Muiruri, said that his members who ferry passengers from BAT junction to Kiganjo and vice-versa have been having it rough whenever bad weather strikes.

"Our appeal to our leaders here is to construct us a shed both in Corner One and Two stages where we can shelter ourselves from rain and hot sun," said Muiruri.

Muiruri said that their work was increasingly becoming hard with the ongoing heavy rains due to lack of a shelter where they can wait for their customers.

"Since we don't have somewhere to shelter ourselves from the rains and strong winds, we go to stand on verandahs away from our motorbikes. Customers sometimes come and go when they fail to find us," added Muiruri.

He, however, appreciated that on the BAT stage there was a shed and asked the same to be duplicated on the Kiganjo main stages. He noted that bodaboda business is what they depend on and when it fails to work well for them for one reason or another, they end up suffering.
