Gatundu North Member of Parliament Kigo Njenga Sunday evening vowed to buy a land to mitigate the crisis of Wamaitho children who walk long distances in search of education.
Speaking while addressing residents, Kigo noted that the constitution allows him to pause some of the ongoing projects in his constituency in order to cater for a rising immediate problem.
He noted that Wamaitho residents were his first priority in development in the year 2016.
"I am ready to use CDF funds to first mitigate the crisis that your children face in search of education. It's my wish that every child in my constituency lives peacefully and without education challenges," he said.
"The constitution allows me to put a pause to the ongoing projects in other areas to cater for a rising problem that requires immediate intervention. I have heard your cry and will allocate you Sh7.2 million to buy enough land that will have a better playground for your children," he told Wamaitho residents.
Kigo further promised to put enough mechanisms of fighting insecurity problems in Makwa, after a middle aged man killing in River Chania.
"I will fulfill all the promises I made to Gatundu North residents this year before going to campaigns," he promised.
His funds allocation to Wamaitho residents comes a few days after the residents staged a peaceful demo demanding government intervention on the distance covered by their children in search of education.
