Gatundu North MP Kigo Njenga has called for political maturity among leaders across the political divide.

Speaking at Gituamba trading centre in Gatundu on Tuesday, Kigo asked fellow politicians to exercise tolerance and maturity.

The lawmaker said continued use of abusive language among a section of politicians was not good.

He said that though they (politicians) have diverse opinions and thoughts, they must learn to embrace tolerance.

“I am calling on politicians across the political divide to exercise maturity and tolerance for the sake of developing the country,” he said.

The Gatundu North MP said political maturity was necessary in the country and that it will shape the future of politics.

Kigo at the same time called on the politicians to spearhead unity among their people.

He said the country needs unity and peace for it to foster socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, he urged youths in the constituency to grab the development funds being given by the government.

Kigo challenged youths and marginalised groups to take advantage of the government’s Uwezo Fund.

He said marginalised groups in the area will be empowered economically if the applied for the funds.
