Exposed electric wires are posing danger to Kilugha residents in Uasin Gishu county as a result of a car which had lost direction thus hitting the electric wires. The incident occurred on Wednesday 2, December 2015 at 10:00pm and it according to the residents caused electric sparks which could have been dangerous to the area residents.
Although there were no injuries reported, the community members called for Kenya Power's strategic measures to avoid such occurrences in future.
"Underground piped- electric wires will minimise such incidences which could prove very dangerous to the residents in this area," Mike Kiplimo, a resident in the area suggested.
Zena Kemboi, another resident also suggested the availability of a Kenya Power representative at a local level to switch off the main source of electricity in case of similar incidents in the future.
This arises as the government is trying its best to make electricity available for every citizen at a cheaper price unlike the previous years.
