Kiogoro residents have applauded the ongoing project of leveling the Amariba field that has been in a bad state for a long time.

According to the residents, the project will see the area's sporting activities improve as  there is currently no major playing ground as Amariba field had been in the worst situation due to heavy rains that washed the better part of the field. Douglas Onchieku, a resident said they are happy that the area MP, awarded a contract to one of the area youths and currently the work is in progress and they are looking forward to having a great pitch.

''The field used to be the only place where we can play but since it was eroded by heavy rains we have remained in the dark but now we appreciate it is being upgraded,'' he added.

According to the projects manager, James Ondicho, they are looking forward to completing the project in a month’s time to allow the residents start using the field.

''We have a time frame and all we want is to ensure we deliver quality work that will see the residents have their field back,'' said Ondicho.

The project is being funded by Nyaribari Chache MP, Richard Tong'i.
