Residents of Kiriguini and Gatunyu villages in Kiambu constituency have urged the government to boost security in the areas.
According to residents, cases of crime are sprawling in the areas.
Speaking to this writer on Monday, residents claimed a group of criminals is wrecking havoc in the area.
Abraham Mumia, a resident of Kiriguini village alleges the existence of a gang behind a wave of robberies in the area.
“We have started experiencing cases where villagers' houses and shops are broken into by unknown people and want to appeal to the government to beef up security,” mumia said.
Mr Mumia alleged that the gang causing havoc comprises of young people.
“Insecurity within this village is deteriorating and we want to urge the government to act and deal with criminals,” Faith Muriithi, a teacher in a local school, said.
Speaking when he visited Kiriguini village last week, Kiambu MP (MP) Jude Njomo urged the police to intensify patrols and ensure security across the constituency.
