Kisii county commissioner Chege Mwangi has assured the area residents of ample security ahead of the festive season celebrations. Mwangi on Wednesday said that his administration is ready to deal with insecurity in the region warning criminals to keep off the county.
He said that he has deployed enough security officials who will maintain law and order during Christmas and New Year holidays.
“I want to assure all residents in Kisii county that their stay in the county will be safe especially during this festive,” he said.
Mwangi urged the residents to go on with their daily activities without fear.
According to the commissioner, no police officer will be on leave during this period during the festivities.
The commissioner further urged residents to be on the lookout for community vices like Female Genital Mutilation common in the region warning of dire consequences for those caught practising the vice.
He said that his office had received reports of girls undergoing FGM in secret remote locations adding that his officers are on the lookout for such culprits.
