Officials from the National Blood Transfusion Service have called upon Kisii residents to donate blood in the ongoing 3 days blood donation drive in Kisii town in order to save lives of those who need more blood in various hospitals in the region.

They pitched camp at Nyambera Primary School for the exercise that they hope will enable them to get enough blood to help needy patients in the area.

According to an official leading the National Blood Transfusion Service team Mrs. Nancy Moracha on Tuesday, many people have already turned up at the venue to participate in the exercise.

Mrs. Moracha said that the number of residents who turned out so far was good and they expect more of them to turn up in the remaining days.

“We will be donating the blood to the people who need it in various hospitals in the county so that they can get well and join their families over the festive season,” she said.

The exercise that entered its second day on Wednesday is expected to end on Thursday.
