Kisii Open Air market traders have urged the county government to consider them when employment opportunities avail themselves.

According to them, they have not been given employment opportunities like other sectors in the county.

Speaking On Monday at the market led by Meshack Yoge, who is an enforcement officer in the market committee, said that unlike the market sector having many people, they were not given equal opportunities like other sectors during employment by the county. Yoge said that the county government sidelined them as compared to the bodaboda sector.

''We urge our county government to consider other sectors so that we can be beneficiaries of some posts in the county. We know that not all of us can get an opportunity but, however little, we will appreciate,'' said Yoge.

He also said that the county government should put mechanisms in place which will help them whenever there is a problem in the market.
