The Kisii University management has said that it will take a legal action against the Commission for University Education (CUE) concerning closure of their campuses.
Speaking on Friday at the university's main campus, deputy vice chancellor (Administration and Finance), Joseph Mailutha, said that CUE had announced the closure of Kisii University's 10 campuses but had not given any official notice to the management concerning the same. He spoke to students and staff on behalf of the vice chancellor who was away for official business.
The students and staff sought to know their fate after several media houses reported that their campuses were ordered to close down.
''As management, we are considering taking legal action because the issue is unethical," said Mailutha.
He noted that the commission inspected some of the varsity's satellite campuses and was required to give back a report afterwards to the management but did not do so.
''If the commission would have given a report earlier and discovered where we had messed up, then we would have rectified the mistakes," he added.
