Kisii University hit the headlines last week after its 10 out if 13 satellite campuses were given 90 days for closure. The university vice-chancellor, John Akama, addressed the angry students and supported the demonstration stating that it is legal.

''This matter is politically based, and we shall not close the university whatsoever. We shall stand firm," Akama said.

Students took leaves and whistles with them and walked to Kisii town and to the Kisii county government offices to hear from the governor.

'''We shall obey the CUE. They should recognise our certificates," Alloyse Bitange said.

The fate of these satellite campuses is yet to be known as the CUE commission is yet to drop its verdict. The campuses are; Keroka, Migori, Nyamira, Isbania among others.
