Kisumu county locals have challenged the Kisumu county government to increase the traffic police in the area especially during rush hours to help guide drivers and touts in order to avert heavy traffic.

Kisumu carwash business operator Owen Njoroge while speaking to this Hivisasa writer at patels junction called upon the county government to come up with an easier way of controlling traffic by ensuring there are police patrols. According to him, the patrols would reduce lots of commotion and ease the flow of traffic.

"The commotions can be reduced when the police are in place to see jam is reduced by easing the traffic flow," noted Njoroge.

Ronnie Otoumpolo, a resident in the area also on the same note said that they needed increased traffic police patrols since that would reduce the road congestion and misbehaviour by motorists who took advantage of the fact that nobody would apprehend them.
