This is due to the number of stray dogs that roam in the area. They are now calling on the veterinary department to take action against the increasing number of stray dogs in the area.

According to the residents, the number of the dogs has been increasing over the recent weeks causing disturbance in the area as well as fear amongst the residents.

The residents addressed this issue on Tuesday afternoon and complained about the noise the dogs bring as they also pointed put out the fact that these dogs are not treated and belong to nobody meaning they can easily bite someone within and give them rabies.

"These dogs are really becoming a problem, and we are afraid they might cause diseases such as rabies. We are calling on the concerned department to handle them," said Martin Gwengi, a resident of the area.

They are calling on the department to kill the dogs as they have been unable to control them.

"We have tried laying traps for the dogs, but that has not worked out. We are asking for the application of extreme measures such as killing the dogs,’’ said Paul Ombeva, another resident.

The residents also added that the dogs sometimes turn hostile, whenever they are turned away. The dogs are said to be hovering everywhere, invading businesses and homes in search of food.
