Kisumu County Police Commander Nelson Njiri on Tuesday warned the public against lynching suspected criminals.
Speaking to this writer in his office, Njiri expressed concerns over cases of the public taking the law into their own hands and lynching suspects.
"The public should desist from lynching suspected criminals and instead provide information to the police in order to enable the suspects to face the law," said Njiri.
He also condemned the lynching of a suspected thief at Ahero Market terming the incident unacceptable.
The county commander also said that they have stepped up patrols in the county in order to reduce the cases of insecurity.
