Kenya’s leading television station, Kenya Television Network, has entered into a partnership with Bamba TV.

KTN’s Standard Group, has made a Sh300 million deal with Radio Africa group for a 50 per cent stake in Bamba TV in the course of two years.

Bamba TV is a free to view service that was launched in 2014, and is one of  the digital pay television stations in Kenya.

Speaking at the launch at Serena Hotel on Thursday morning, Sam Shollei, Standard Group's CEO said through this partnership, they will look to develop and adapt international formats and shows for the local market so that audiences' expectations are met.

According to Mr Patrick Quarocoo, Radio Africa Limited chief executive, an additional 12 sites will be rolled out over the next nine months, adding on to the current 13 sites.

KTN will bring on board its 25 years expertise in content development and understanding in the Kenyan market.

“We will also create a diversity of content and give Kenyan producers an opportunity to build and launch their own channels on Bamba TV,” Mr Shollei noted.
