The bright boy will now join Nakuru High School.

The story of Kipkoech is one riddled with hurdles as he was forced to repeat class eight in 2015 after his family failed to raise the fee for him to join Koelel Boys high school.

Kipkoech has had a challenge accessing secondary education after been called up to join Koelel High School but due to lack of school fees he had to repeat class 8 last year.

Things were bad this year again despite the boy scoring good marks, the family had no hopes of raising the fee for their child.

Governor Kinuthia Mbugua and his deputy Joseph Rutto were touched by the boy’s determination and offered to school him.

Kipkoech’s mother was lost for words.

“I am very happy today,” she said.

Kinuthia said: “We want to assure all the people of Nakuru County that no gifted and needy child who has done well in his or her exams will go to waste in our county.”
