Uasin Gishu Lands CeC Robert Ng’isirei has put on notice people who have grabbed public land.
Speaking from his office on Thursday, Ng’isirei said land encroachers in the county have derailed development and expansion of Eldoret Town and its roads.
"We have started comprehensive audit of some pieces of land in the county which were grabbed by private developers and once investigations are complete we will repossess them and revert them to the public," he said.
Ng’isirei said that title deeds of all the illegally acquired pieces of land will be revoked.
"I urge people who are in possession of public land to surrender it to the government before we forcefully reposses it," he added.
He also urged schools to ensure that they get title deeds to prevent cases of land grabbing by private developers.
"I urge head teachers and boards of management to ensure that they apply for title deeds since most schools lack the crucial document that may lead to encroachment," he said.
He asked school managements to ensure that they fence their school compounds since unfenced property always attract disputes.
