Officers from the Uasin Gishu Alcoholic Drinks Control Board have arrested a suspect said to be behind the circulation of bhang in the area.
The suspect, commonly known as 'Benten' was arrested at Annex area next to the Moi University School of Law allegedly in possession of 65 rolls of bhang with a street value of Sh5,000.
According to the report from the board, the suspect has been on their wanted list for being involved in the sale of marijuana.
Speaking during the crackdown, board chairman Armstrong Rono said the culprit has been escaping the enforcement officers dragnet for a long time.
"This culprit is known everywhere in the county for supply of drugs, we have been tracking him and lucky enough we have got him red handed with his merchandise," said Rono.
According to residents from Annex area, the suspect graduated from the School of Law two years ago and has been engaging in the illicit trade since then.
