Nyaribari Chache Member of parliament Richard Ton’gi has urged candidates who sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Examination (KCPE) in 2015 to consider enrolling in local high schools.

The legislator said the existing schools should be developed first before new ones are established and that can be done by enrolling more students.

“We should work together towards developing our region by producing best students, and by doing so we can be proud of our local school,” added Tong’i.

“Secondary schools have increased in our region over the past few years but it puzzles me that we are still taking our children to other counties for enrollment,” he added.

The legislator was speaking on Tuesday at Nyabiosi Secondary School in Birongo Ward while inspecting the ongoing construction of the school laboratory.

He also took time to urge the county government of Kisii to start developing local secondary schools and also set up more special schools for children with disabilities in the area.
