Kenyans are always willing to unite for a good cause. This is evident when they are call upon to stand with their fellow Kenyans in need of help.
They never fail and even offer beyond expectations. Last year, they managed to contribute more than Sh6million in a day for the hospital bill for Jadudi who needed Sh1million to go for a brain surgery in India.
This was also seen last weekend in the first lady's half marathon. They turned up in large numbers for the race. All with the same mission- to run, not to keep fit, but to support the Beyond zero campaign.
Looking at the participants of that race, or the Mater's heart run, or the Standard Chartered marathon, you see a face of the united caring nation.
Kenyans rising above their tribal, religious, and political difference to make a difference in someone elses life. We should all embrace the culture of reaching out to other people.
Participating in such worth causes and giving to charities is a noble exercise for everyone of us. We should go out of our ways to offer someone a helping hand, compassion, and mercy.
Giving is not an exercise meant for the rich. Anyone can make a difference with the little they have. People give not because they have excess but because they have something that someone else needs.
Let's reach out and stand with our brothers and sisters in need.
