Residents of Lolwe Estate, Kisumu, are calling on the county government to tarmac the roads in the area, as a way of tackling dust.

According to the residents, the dusty roads connecting the different areas of the estate are making life difficult for them, especially during dry seasons with a high chance of developing serious health complications.

“We have tried talking to the relevant authorities about this problem but no action has been taken,'' said Paul Okusu.

The residents described the situation as irritating and annoying.

“The only solution is to tarmac this road as it is having serious consequences. Babies might be at risk of getting asthmatic conditions,'' said Martin Owino, a resident of the estate.

They called on the management together with the Kisumu County government to fix the roads in the area so as to reduce the dust.

The management of the estate, however, could not be reached for a comment regarding the issue.
