Machakos county will be the first county in Kenya to have an online investment portal.
The portal will link Investors to Machakos county where they can invest and set up enterprises. The development team consists of the Machakos county government official's, a team from the world bank and OTB (Outside the box) a leading web developer in the country.
According to the governor who signed the system specification and strategy yesterday in his Mavoko office, the works should be completed in September this year.
The portal is set to supplement efforts by the county to lure investors into the county which has seen delegations from the county led by the governor tour over ten countries abroad.
Mutua was accompanied by his trade executive Dr. Sunil Dhal and Chief officer in the trade docket Ms. Mukunya.
In 2013,the county held an investment conference and the investors pledged billions of shillings to the county and projects such as the new Machakos city.
