The Wiper party has refuted claims that its rally in Machakos County was convened to tame Governor Alfred Mutua.
Addressing the party's leaders meeting at Machakos County Club on Friday, Wiper chairman Senator David Musila said they could not waste their time as a party undermining other leaders.
"We cannot come to Machakos to waste our time as a party for a person who is not there. Today's meeting is not intended to tame Mutua as is said," said Musila.
Musila who is also the Kitui Senator said the rally was intended to strengthen the party in Machakos County alongside other counties in Ukambani which are its strongholds.
"This is the first meeting that the Wiper party has conducted in Kenya, it has been held in Machakos County since it is the party's stronghold," said Musila.
"We do not want to glorify something that does not exist," said he.
Musila said the party will go round the country to sensitise Kenyans and cord supporters to hold national identification cards and register as voters to enable them participate in the 2017 polls.
