Molo MP Jacob Macharia said that security officers responded actively and helped in restoring calm in the area which was rocked in violence on the eve of Christmas and over the weekend.

“Peace is now returning in Narok Olposimoru area and we thank security agents and key government officials from the ministry of interior and coordination for fostering peace and reconciliation,” he said on Tuesday.

He also contended that a curfew imposed by cabinet secretary Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government was pragmatic and in line with taming the clashes.

“A 6pm to 6am curfew has been imposed. Kenya is for all of us and we must remain united. The curfew will in help in promotion of peace and also give time to those who have been tasked with bringing together the warring communities,” Macharia said.

He further urged the locals of Olposimoru to shun violence as a means to address their grievances telling them that they should explore other channels of addressing their concerns.

“We should say no to tribal violence and regardless of our grievances let us all explore other channels of resolving our differences because it's bad when we have people lose property during clashes and also lose their lives,” he stated.
