A man has been arraigned in Kisumu Magistrate Court for allegedly sodomising a minor aged 14.
Hezekiah Kangala was charged with defilement contrary to the Sexual Offences act of 2006.
The act, which gives up to twenty years imprisonment upon conviction to persons found to have committed the offence with a child between the age of twelve and fifteen years.
The court heard that on February 18 at about 1 am in Nyalenda area, Kisumu County, Hezekiah Kangala intentionally sodomised the minor.
The accused however pleaded not guilty when he appeared before the court today and was released on a bond of Sh200, 000 and a cash bail of Sh100, 000.
The court directed that the accused be supplied with the copies of witness statements to enable him to get an in-depth understanding of the accusations.
The prosecution was also directed to supply him with any other evidence document that they intend to rely upon in the subsequent court proceedings.
The case is set for hearing on April 14.
