A middle-aged man was found dead and his body dumped in a thicket at Kianjoya in Nakuru County.
The badly mutilated body was found on Tuesday by passersby.
“He had deep cuts all over the body. In fact his clothes were soaked in blood,” James Muraguri said.
Police said the man had been reported missing one week ago.
According to residents, the man was operating a Kinyozi at a local centre.
“He went missing a week ago and his family have been searching for him until today when the body was recovered,” Jane Wambui said. Contradicting information emerged as some residents claimed that the body was daggling from a tree. Others claimed the perpetrators of the heinous act tried to hang the body from a tree to make the incident appear as if the deceased committed suicide.
Gilgil police took the body to mortuary as investigations commenced.
