Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago has been crowned by a section of Kalenjin elders for being a 'God sent servant” and a leader who does not veer off the path of his promises.
Mandago was crowned in a traditional ceremony by elders of Meibeki Karuna Ward.
The county chief was feted for reportedly being the first leader to get atop the Kapsiliot Hill, a far-flung and hilly area within Meibeki Ward where other political elders are said to have kept off due to lack of roads.
Mandago’s leadership has “docked” a grader to continue with road improvement win the ward. The county has done tens of kilometers in the ward which local say had been neglected in the past before the county government took charge.
“This grader is not going anywhere until all roads have been graded and communication smoothed. I had gone with your MCA (Josephat Lowoi) to Chebara Dam to see how we can get water to this point, and we shall do that before August,” Mandago said.
