Several residents of Nakuru town turned up on Friday to tender in their application forms for the voter registration exercise announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission(IEBC) a week ago.
The residents, notably youths, jammed the commission's central rift region offices in Nakuru town to beat the Friday deadline date set by the commission.
One of the applicants, Kevin Juma, expressed optimism of landing on the one-month job opportunity.
"I believe I have what it takes to land this job and help IEBC realise its registration target, " he said.
Another applicant, Dickens Kirui, however, played down his chances saying he hoped the commission would consider him to end his unemployment situation.
The commission advertised positions for voter registration assistants a week ago as it prepared to roll out a massive registration exercise ahead of the impending general elections next year.
