According to the Student Organization of Maseno University (SOMU) Bonface Oduory, the meeting will incorporate students, security officers and University management.

Over the past one week, a number of students have been attacked and robbed by unknown assailants.

The students through various platforms had raised concerns about their safety in the campus, especially the non-resident students who are the main casualties.

According to Oduory, students should have a say on how their security should be handled.

"I will try as much as I can to involve students ideas in the meeting, as they are the affected lot. We want to solve this issue holistically," said Oduory.

Oduory invited the students fraternity to give in ideas on how to solve the perennial insecurity issue.

"Please if you have any suggestions on what should be done, feel free to share your views through the available avenues," said Oduory.

On Saturday night, two students were attacked and seriously injured by unknown people adding to the growing number of casualties. The most affected areas are of Emabungo and Nyawitta.

Oduory went ahead to wish the injured a quick recovery while urging the rest of the students to be vigilant.
