Boda boda operators in Masinga sub-county have been served with a stern warning against being used to ferry illicit brew to the various locations.

Speaking on Tuesday morning the Ekalakala location senior chief Benjamin Musyoka Wambua has stated together with Nyumba Kumi initiative he would hunt them down. 

"Yesterday we arrested a boda boda operator with seven boxes of illicit brew in plastic packaging and he is going to help us with investigations," stated Wambua.

The senior chief stated that he had handed over the man to his assistant chief Timothy Kivati who would find out who had sent the operator and where the liqour had been purchased from. 

Wambua has also called upon the residents to be proactive in bringing into the limelight the illicit alcohol brewers. 

"We are investigating into the seven cartons of banned liquor that was found. We will ensure that those behind the whole illegal business face the law," said Wambua.

The illicit brew in the seven cartons has been identified as astra which is one of the second generation brews banned.
