Matungulu Sub-County residents have called upon security agencies to intensify the fight against insecurity in the area.
Speaking in Tala Town on Thursday, Tala Market chairlady, Anna Kyalo, said rising insecurity in the region had become a challenge as it has crippled businesses in the area.
Kyalo said the lives of the residents were at risk due to the increase in the number of armed robbery cases being reported in the area, especially in Tala, which is a growing urban centre.
"We are concerned about the rising insecurity in Tala and its environs, which has largely affected our businesses. We are calling upon our security agencies to intensify patrols especially at night in a bid to keep criminals at a bay,” said Kyalo.
The chairlady however threatened to call for mass protest to force security agents to take their work seriously.
"There has been a lot of laxity among the police and we will not tolerate it anymore. We will hold protests to ensure the county government hears our concerns,” she said.
