Youth in Matungulu Sub-County who have just completed their high school education have been urged to apply for identification cards to enable them secure jobs and also participate in the coming general election.

Speaking in his office on Friday, Matungulu deputy county commissioner Patrick Mwangi said that majority of the youth who have just completed their high school education are loitering in the streets or engaging in social vices.

He advised the youth to plan for their future, adding that they should start by securing identification cards.

"Instead of form four leavers staying idle at home, they should apply for IDs which will enable them to secure jobs as they wait to join college,” said Mwangi.

He added, "Elections are around the conner and they should participate and enjoy their right to vote.”

He said they can also vie for seats come 2017 so long as they are of age.
